Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program

The SBA will work directly with state Governors to provide targeted, low-interest loans to small businesses and non-profits that have been severely impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million that can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing.

Message from City of Angleton Office of Emergency Management: As of this morning (9:00 AM), 3/13/2020 - There are no confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Brazoria County. Please help us with rumor control as there are no cases at this time in the county. The Brazoria County Health Department and County Officials are monitoring the ever-changing situation very closely. We will provide information as we receive it to keep you updated and informed. The best way to protect you and your loved ones is to take preventive actions to avoid exposure to COVID-19.
Stay home if sick.
Stay calm and stay positive.
Follow recommendations of frequent and thorough hand washing
Clean surfaces frequently that are touched, utilizing household cleaners.
Limit person to person contact. Consider a fist or elbow bump instead of a handshake when appropriate; this includes hugging.
Be mindful of limiting your participation in large gatherings, until this matter is resolved.
Our goal is to spread awareness, not alarm. We are optimistic that our community can significantly minimize our exposure potential if we all work together. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is now being reported in neighboring counties to Brazoria County.While there is NOT a present threat of COVID-19 in Angleton or Brazoria County, we want to assure our citizens and guests that we are continuously monitoring the situation with the state and local health authorities and making preparations to protect our community.
As a PRECAUTION, the Angleton Police Department’s 911 call center has instituted new protocol in their questions when a citizen or guest requests a call for service from fire, police, or EMS. These questions are formulated in accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) interim guidelines and vetted through the Texas Department of State Health Serves (DSHS), and Angleton Area Emergency Medical Corps. The objective with these questions is to help with the timely and accurate recognition and response to any potentially infected person to combat community spread and protect 1st responders from exposure as well.
As a PRECAUTION only, citizens and guests may notice that 1st responders may begin to take additional precautions around unknown situations, including keeping at least 6 feet of distance from another person while they talk, along with wearing additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like face masks, eye-wear, etc. They may also ask further questions to attempt to detect a potential exposure to COVID – 19 whether symptoms exist or not. All of these measures are precautionary and intended to do our part to minimize the potential for spread in our community until this situation is resolved.
We can assure our community that all precautions being recommended by CDC and DSHS are being taken seriously and are being implemented when appropriate. We appreciate your cooperation with us in doing the following:
