[ARCHIVED] Message from Mayor Perez

Mayor Jason Perez

6/26/2020Mask Up Angleton

Message from Mayor Perez. Thank you to the city staff and all the partners we had yesterday to discuss our community and vulnerabilities. As mayor, difficult decisions must be made. Definitely not political. My priority is everyone’s health and safety in Angleton. Our idea of trying to strongly encourage everyone to wear a mask through a proclamation and campaign is what was decided for now. We are asking our citizens to step forward and be the community of example. I see it like this, when you drive a car, you fasten your belt and care about those who drive around you to do the right thing.
So why is it so different now, mask and protect others around you We visited yesterday with several of our community’s top health care administrators, business owners and leaders. And as a team and as one voice, using the data and science we have available, we choose this course of action. It’s a simple gesture. If we don’t control it now, it will control us.
