The City of Angleton is inviting citizens to a Town Hall meeting to discuss the Special Charter Amendment Election which includes 81 amendments to change the City Charter, which was first approved by the voters in 1951.
The City Charter defines the organization, powers, and functions of city government and is the most important legal document of the City, comparable to the constitutions of the United States and State of Texas.
The public forum will be Tuesday, April 19th at 6p.m. at City Hall (120 S. CHENANGO STREET, ANGLETON, TEXAS 77515). Citizens are invited to offer feedback to the council on possible changes.
The proposed Charter amendments can be found at https://angleton.tx.us/400/Elections for review.
