We’re excited to announce that planning is underway for the 2023 Heart of Christmas event! After multiple requests to bring back the Tree Walk, we are excited to announce that the Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce will join the event team and host the 2023 Tree Walk! Trees are donated by organizations and then given to disadvantaged families at the end of the event on December 2. Community Booths are a mixture of organizations, churches, and businesses that come together for one night to give back to the citizens. Community Booth and Tree Walk registration are LIVE, and remain open until Wednesday, November 15, or until all spots are filled. To register, go to https://secure.rec1.com/TX/angleton-tx/catalog under the Heart of Christmas tab. There is no registration fee for either.
Community Booth Guidelines:
The booth spaces are 10’ x 10’. If you need more than one 10’ x 10’ space for your organization, you will have the option to select additional spaces during registration.
We will provide enough power for each Community Booth to plug in Christmas lights. However, if you plan to have a popcorn machine or require more power, you will need to provide a quiet generator for your booth. The City of Angleton is unable to provide generators.
We encourage all booths to be decorated with holiday lights and décor!
Please consider using gloved hands to pass out goodies instead of giving out napkins to each guest, as these often end up on the ground.
A map showing Community Booth locations will be sent out the week of the event. There will also be signs marking each space when you arrive for setup. Community Booth setup is from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday. More information to follow as we near the event.
This event is a gift to the community. Please note that nothing can be sold at this event. While donation boxes are acceptable, please do not solicit for your organization.
We ask that your organization not start giveaways until after the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Veterans Park at 6:00 pm.
Also, please do not start taking down your booth before the completion of the event at 9:00 pm.
Tree Walk Guidelines:
Trees should be 6.5 ft. artificial trees or larger.
The organization should furnish tree decorations, including lights, and retain the tree box for the family to store the tree for future use.
Decorating and tree set-up by the donating organization is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Decorations should be appropriate for outdoor and weather resistant in case of inclement weather. Trees will be donated to disadvantaged families within the area.
The organizations hold no claim to the tree once it is donated. The Angleton Chamber of Commerce will work with its community partners to designate the recipients and disburse the trees randomly.
Tree Walk FAQs:
Q: Can I provide presents? A: Although it is not required, if your organization would like to donate gifts in addition to the tree you are welcome to.
Q: Do I have to follow a theme for my tree decorations? A: We only ask that the decorations are appropriate for all ages.
Q: Can I have any size tree? A: We only ask that the donated tree is not smaller than 6.5 feet. Most house ceilings are 8-9.
